For those who made donations, you are more than welcome to come in and collect your books if you would like them returned. Otherwise from 1st April 2014 all remaining books and magazines will be available for sale, with all sales going to Radio Lollipop at Gold Coast University Hospital.
Radio Lollipop is an international children’s charity who care,
comfort, play and bring entertainment to children whilst in hospital.

As all sales will be donated to Radio Lollipop, we do ask for CASH ONLY with these purchases.

Thank you so much to all who came down and attended our workshops, volunteered for the secret challenge (everyone had a ball!) and entered in our hide and seek competition. Make your very own fashionable jewellery pieces using nothing but paper! In this fun little workshop you can learn how to make a necklace with paper beads and a woven bracelet. Price includes materials.

What: Book Art Workshop
Time: 7.30 – 8.10pm
Cost: $10

Create up-cycled book art by folding and cutting pages of old books to make awesome 3D shapes. Use your finished masterpieces to decorate your wall or give them away as cute handmade gifts!

Big book with big ideas. You’ll be surprised by the versatility of paper (or by the amount of time some people seem to have…).

2. The Creative Christmas Book – Ken Fin

Published before I was old enough to read but still full of ideas to inspire and customise for your Christmas celebrations this year. From flower arranging to gift wrapping, this book is sure to get your creative juices going.

3. Craft & Home (magazine) – Winter 1994

This is an oldie but definitely a goodie! From knitting to apron-making with a focus on ‘craft heritage’, you won’t run out of content to read!

4. Grandiflora Celebrations – Saskia Havekes

If you aren’t a fan of flowers, you will be after you drool over these pages! International flower extraodinaire Saskia Havekes has created works of art for fashion shows, award ceremonies and the like. I assure you, you will be blown away.

5. 21 Crafts to Make You Happy – Abbey Hendrickson

Maybe because it’s bursting with DIY goodness, or the fact that the book says I’m awesome, but this compact little book is definitely a favourite! With simple instructions for impacting outcomes, blogger Abbey Hendrickson will wow you with projects that will definitely leave you happy.

Join us on Thursday the 10th of October from 5pm – 9pm  for the grand opening of our Sarbe Community Library! The library will be available for anyone and everyone to come and gain inspiration from the many inspiring books we have collected from near and far. It will stock both brand new books that we have picked up during our travels as well as a selection of second-hand books and magazines that have been kindly donated by our lovely friends, family and valued customers. Whether it’s card-making, sewing or planning a wedding, you won’t be at a loss for ideas.

We’ll also have workshops on the night using second-hand books (but spaces are limited so contact us to secure your spot!). Here’s a sneak peek of what we’ll be making:

If that’s not enough to get you excited, the entire Brickworks centre will be open and alive hosting their very first ‘Up Late’ event with Cove Magazine!

For one night only, sarbe, along with our neighbouring stores will be staying up a little bit later and leaving our doors open for a little bit longer so you can come and experience the best that the Brickworks has to offer. We hear there will be fashion shows, food and wine tastings, cooking demonstrations and guest speakers, so make sure you keep the night free, and come say hi!

the Sarbe Community Library!

This will be a collection of wonderfully inspirational books and magazines to get you thinking creatively and give you ideas for your newest artistic ventures.

And there’s a reason why we called it the  Sarbe ‘Community’ Library – because not only is it for you, but we need you, the community, to help build it!

Any contributions towards our collection will be greatly appreciated. We welcome donations of books or magazines that you no longer need (but still have plenty of creative inspiration for others to enjoy), or cash donations which will be used to purchase the latest editions of magazines and new book titles to add to the library.
